The team was very excited to ride into Telluride and enjoy the scenic town. We got off to a pretty late start and had to battle some mountain passes and hardcore rain before arriving in Telluride. Sadly, I also exited the "haven't had a flat tire on the road yet" club in the morning as we were leaving Montrose. The road had a lot of glass slivers and something caused my rear tube to go flat. Oh well!
After cresting the Dallas Divide Summit we earned ourselves a pretty sweet 10-13 mile downhill into our second stop of the day. I was extremely fortunate to miss the pelting rain that nailed 95% of our team. Many of us waited the rainstorm out at the stop's gas station while folks rolled in soaking - Bridget McCartney specifically cursed out the hail/rain drops for soaking her through!
The final 16 miles into Telluride were some of the most beautiful of CO as we entered the land where the rocks are starting to turn dark red and resemble southern Utah. Not to mention we followed a picturesque fly fishing stream for the entire 16 miles.

We finally entered Telluride and man, it is extremely gorgeous!! First of all, there is a snow melt waterfall in the backdrop of the town which is stunning the last 2-3 miles of the ride. Second, the town is loaded with bikes!! The main street was lined with racks and people use bikes almost as equal as cars for transportation. Not to mention almost everyone owns a super sweet mountain bike, a custom made road bike, or just a plain old cruiser.

Everyone was really excited to get out and enjoy the town (especially with our rest day tomorrow!) which is why I missed a blog entry :( .
