Day 55 - Bob Scott Campground, NV to Middlegate, NV - 70 mi

Phew - on to today's post!! Again, sorry for the delayed blog posts!

Today's ride had two different options available to the team. The first was to continue on Rt. 50 and see some of the old Pony Express stops while the second was to climb Carroll Summit and ride a nice descent into Middlegate. Most of the team chose to climb the extra summit while some ventured out to explore Rt. 50. All in all, we made it to Middlegate in one piece!

A few highlights to our day included:

1 - A delicious breakfast at the Toiyabe Cafe to load up for our ride today.

(2 - getting buzzed by a pretty sweet little plane in the middle of nowhere)

(3 - hearing vet talk radio while riding in front of Kristen and Carmen - both vet students at VT)

(4 - seeing one of the larger patches of actual sand desert - really white and created a huge dust storm that we avoided luckily)

(5 - checking out the infamous Shoe Tree near Middlegate, NV that we have been hearing about for days)

6 - Arriving in Middlegate which consists of one building that is the bar/restaurant/grocery store/motel/camping area/only building in town. Needless to say we overwhelmed the cook and bar as we do in every small town that BUS4MS rolls through.

(Seth and Alex before enjoying a cold one!)

Off to talk with the wife and try to find a shower in the middle of the desert! Enjoy the three new posts as I will strive to keep things up to date as we reach civilization in CA soon!
